Femi Otedola, the chairman of Geregu Power Plc, has been named chancellor of Augustine University, a Catholic institution affiliated with the Lagos Archdiocese.
Nicholas Obayi, the university’s spokesperson, said in a statement: “Augustine University Ilara-Epe is happy to announce the appointment of Mr. Femi Otedola as the institution’s second chancellor. The position becomes official on April 7, 2022.
Otedola’s appointment “is well deserved, having been an indefatigable donor” to Augustine University’s structural improvement project, which has facilitated the institution’s quick expansion, claims the statement.
“Otedola was a well-known business tycoon in the energy sector both in Nigeria and overseas prior to his appointment. He is the Chairman and Chief Executive of Geregu Power Plc, and he also engages in charitable work to improve lives.
