Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has vowed to remain in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) till the end of the campaign.
In Government House, Port Harcourt, on Thursday, Wike made this statement to PDP stakeholders.
The governor remarked, “One thing I have always made clear to people is that if someone thinks or acts in any way that suggests we would leave PDP, foul.
“We’ll engage in combat within the group. We don’t behave like they did in 2014 when they left Eagle Square. They are forgetful. They left and joined the APC. Is that not the case?
Do they still quarrel among themselves in the party? They fled, but we persisted. Now that the party is fighting, we won’t participate.
“At this party, we’ll combat it. Weak people are those who flee from a battle. Not at all. So everyone should be aware of the situation as it stands. so that no one blatantly fabricates stories about you.
He stated, in reference to the party’s constitution’s zoning provisions, “You have taken the presidential candidate, you have taken the party chairman, and you have also taken the D.G. (director general) of the campaign. Party politics are the topic at hand. The presidential candidate, party chairman, and director general of the campaign make decisions.
“They claim to have instructed the BOT chairman to resign. You are aware that an issue exists. You suggested that he leave and resign.
You think at our level you will deceive us. You’ll tell us stories.”
